IndieGoGo Campaign Update #10

We reached our goal!

THANK YOU

On behalf of The Rainbow Kid, I want to thank everybody who helped us reach our goal. I personally can’t express how grateful I am at the amount of support we’ve gotten throughout this campaign. It’s been a long campaign but we’re exited to move into Production next month. There are still a million things to do but we’re getting there and will keep you posted on how everything progresses. Of course we will keep you up to date on your perks as well. But don’t be a stranger. Please feel free to reach out to us anytime if you have a question or want to say hi.

MAYA BANKOVIC – Cinematography Reel 2013 from Maya Bankovic on Vimeo.

When we’re not busy crowdfunding, we’re continuing to lock down crew. We would like to welcome Maya Bankovic to our team. Maya is a Cinematographer from Toronto. Her recent film credits include the documentaries MY PRAIRIE HOME (Sundance ’14, Vancouver Film Critics Circle award, Canadian Screen Award Nominee ’14) and THREE WALLS (Hot Docs, AFI Silverdocs ’11, Canadian Screen Award Nominee ’13), and dramatic films TRU LOVE (Inside Out ’14 Audience Award), BROKEN HEART SYNDROME (TIFF ’12), THE PEDESTRIAN JAR (TIFF ’11), PATHWAYS (TIFF ’11) and SLIP, which was awarded the 2010 Kodak Award for Best Cinematography at the Canadian Film Centre’s WSFF.

We also want to welcome Gaelle Renzaglia. Our Production Manager for the film, Gaelle comes from a film and TV background. Her recent credits include Client Seduction (2014), Sorority Surrogate (2014) and Candice Tells All (2011).

LOCATIONS LOCATIONS LOCATIONS!

Calling all locations. With The Rainbow Kid we’re breaking all the rules of an indie film (i.e. minimal cast, minimal locations, less shoot days, etc). With all my films I tend to make things hard on myself. I just don’t like to settle. I like to aim for the impossible and see where it leads me. So why stop now. We have a ton of locations in this film and although we’re slowly locking them down, we still have a few that are proving to be a little harder to find. So, I wanted to put out an open call to anybody who has a house or farm in the country and who would be willing to let our very small crew film there for a day. Ideally, we’re looking for properties just outside Toronto (an hour tops) that is a bit secluded with little traffic and noise. However, we’ll take what we can get. If you’d like to be apart of our production, if you know anybody who might be open to us shooting on their property, or if you’d like more info please don’t hesitate to contact us. Not only will you be helping out an awesome film, but you’ll get to see the filmmaking process in action and we’ll give you a nice credit in the film!

Alright, I have to get back to work. More updates soon.
